Steam Into Summerville Railroad Days is set to roll out a weekend of family fun October 28-29. The City of Summerville and Summerville Main Street will present a Community Fall Festival at the Historic Summerville Depot on Saturday, October 28, followed by a Market at the Depot and Cornhole Tournament on Sunday, October 29. Each day will be highlighted by the arrival of the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum passenger train. Train fans and photographers alike will not want to miss the special Double Steam Engine arrival scheduled for around 1:00 p.m. each day. Following the arrival, spectators will have the opportunity to witness the Summerville Turntable in action turning the majestic engines.
Community Fall Festival – Saturday, October 28
Great family fun is lined up at the Summerville Depot and East Washington Street on Saturday, October 28th. Summerville Main Street will host a Community Fall Festival packed full of family fun and tradition. The festival will run from 10:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Community Fall Fest 2017 features live music by the Chattooga Chorus, hay rides, games, art & crafts, face painting, cake walk, food, and fun for the entire family – including a Children’s Homemade Halloween Costume Contest and a Spooky Pooch Costume Contest. Entry for the Children’s Costume Contest is free. A suggested entry fee of $5.00 is requested for the Spooky Pooch Costume Contest to benefit the Chattooga Animal Shelter. Prizes will be awarded to all contest winners.

Market At The Depot – Sunday, November 1
Market at the Depot is scheduled for Sunday, October 29 at the Summerville Depot. Hours for this special event will be 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Those looking for some relaxing Sunday fun can sit down with family and friends to “Sunday Dinner” type foods and live musical entertainment inside the depot. Food by Sweet P’s at the Tavern, Mike Bryant’s Outlaw Brunswick Stew, and Sheyrl’s Cakes & Catering will be onsite, along with additional retail and craft vendors. Live musical performances will fill the day inside the depot freight room. Admission to this event is free to the public.

In addition, a Corn Hole tournament is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. A registration fee of $40 for teams of 2 will be required to enter, with a “Winner Takes All” prize. Tournament registration time will run from 11:00 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. and is limited to 16 teams of 2.
