Big Things Come in Cute Packages: Mosley Goes ProStar

Upcoming Trion Middle School 8th grader, Jenna Mosley, has been nominated to attend the USA Elite Select 30 All American National Softball Camp. The camp will be held August 18-20th in Baton Rouge, LA and will showcase the top athletes in the 2018 to 2023 graduation classes. Jenna will also be attending camps at North Georgia College, UT Martin, UTC, University of Florida and Lee University. Jenna’s goal is to play softball at the collegiate level. Jenna’s skills in middle school have already generated interest from major universities across the region.

While Mosley is the first ProStar pitcher nominated for the Select 30, it is her power at the plate that has been turning heads. Her coaches have called her an “RBI machine” and noted her smooth play at 2nd or 3rd base.

Starting the 2017 softball season in February, Mosley has only had three weekends off in the past four months. With ProStar Practice at Northwest High School on Mondays and Wednesday, pitching lessons in Rock Springs on Tuesdays with Stephanie White, and Thursdays and Fridays hitting and pitching at her home, Mosley makes time on the weekends for travel tournaments with her ProStar team.

Starting in June, Mosley will begin playing in college exposure tournaments. She is currently scheduled for five college exposure camps this summer, including the Scenic City Showcase in Chattanooga, Thunderbolt 5 Star Exposure in Montgomery, Elite Prospects in Huntsville, PGF Showcase in Indianapolis, IN and the Legacy Tournament in Marietta. These tournaments provide an opportunity to display her talent in front of scouts and perform on a field with high quality talent.

In addition to her prowess on the diamond, Mosley also excels in the classroom. She was recently awarded the Outstanding Academic Achievement Award, Bulldog Scholarship Award, completed all four areas of Study Island, Honor Roll/Star Roll All Year, vice president of the Junior Beta Club, and only missed one day of school due to a Showcase Softball event. Mosley proves that it is never too early to set a goal and learn the discipline required to achieve that goal.

Jenna is the daughter of Chris and Brandi Mosley.
