US Postal Service to purchase Reidsville Post Office for $1

After 20 years, the United States Postal Service is purchasing the building where the Reidsville Post Office resides for a mega $1.

The United States Postal Service is set to purchase the Reidsville Post Office and own the building outright at the end of the year.

The price to be paid is $1.00 and is effective in December 2017.

Mayor Sydney Clifton told council members the $1.00 was already received. The agreement was put into place 20 years ago and the USPS has been paying rent since 1997.

Clifton joked that the USPS sent the mayor $1.00 for the purchase and addressed another envelope with $1.00 to City Administrato Kellie Murray, “So we got twice as much as we’re owed!”

Now Reidsville might clean up the City. It’s ashame, Claxton and Glennville are blossoming and Reidsville is dirty and run down.
