TC Boyd: Trion High School’s Newest Bulldog of Physical Education and Coaching

Trion High School welcomes TC Boyd to the Hill. He is one of the newest Bulldog faculty members for the 2026-2027 school year. He will be teaching Physical Education and coaching several sports teams.

Coach Boyd attended Berry College and earned a Bachelor of Science in Education with a Physical Education major. Later, he earned a Master of Science degree in Kinesiology from Georgia Southern. Kinesiology, for those who may not know, is the scientific study of the human body’s movement.

Before beginning at Trion High School, Coach Boyd also taught at Lamar County, Sandy Creek, Newnan, and Rockmart. There, he was a Physical Education teacher at each school.

Coach Boyd knew he wanted to teach and coach since he was a kid, saying, “I grew up on the sidelines and in the dugout because my dad was a teacher and a coach. So, I knew early on.”

At Trion High School, Coach Boyd will be teaching Recreational Games and Girls’ Weightlifting. Additionally, he will serve as the Head Baseball Coach and Assistant Football Coach for the wide receivers. Coach Boyd is also said that he is “lucky enough to get to hang out with Coach John Cornett for a little bit on A-days..”

Something Coach Boyd is most excited for this school year is the high school lunch period because he loves to eat. He also has many hobbies including cooking, grilling, golfing, and hanging out with family.

This year at THS, he expects to enjoy and embrace his first year being a Trion Bulldog!
