Chattooga CTAE Students to Showcase Talents and Sell Pathway Products at Sum-Nelly Using “Careers on Wheels” Trailer

This year at the beloved local tradition, Sum-Nelly, Chattooga County ’s Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education (CTAE) students will take center stage in a whole new way—rolling in with their brand-new Careers on Wheels trailer.

Funded through the Georgia Chamber Foundation Workforce Preparedness Grant and the Tillotson-Menlo Charitable Foundation Grant, the Careers on Wheels trailer is a mobile classroom and marketplace designed to showcase student talent, raise awareness of CTAE pathways, and inspire future workforce engagement.

At Sum-Nelly, student organizations—Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs)—will use the trailer to display and sell products created through their career pathway programs. From handcrafted items to agriculture-based goods, baked treats, and student-designed marketing materials, visitors will get to explore and purchase unique, student-made products while learning more about the career and technical training happening right here in Chattooga County Schools.

In addition to fundraising for their programs, students will use this event as a real-world learning opportunity, practicing sales, customer service, entrepreneurship, marketing, and communication skills.

Community members are encouraged to stop by the Careers on Wheels trailer to meet the students, support their work, and explore the wide range of CTAE opportunities available in the district.

“This is more than just a booth at a fair—it’s a way to connect our students with the community, help them see themselves as part of the workforce, and get hands-on experience selling products they’ve worked hard to create”

By participating in Sum-Nelly, students are not only supporting their CTSOs but also raising awareness of the value of CTAE education and inspiring younger students and families to consider the many possibilities available through local career pathways.

The Careers on Wheels initiative continues to serve as a powerful tool to bring learning to life, one event at a time.
