A familiar face, former Chattooga High School Principal Jeff Martin officially qualified today for Summerville City Council Seat 3.

The position became vacant when Rickey Hughes resigned to pursue a mayoral run.

Martin dedicated more than three decades to education and public service and says his decision to qualify comes from his continued desire to serve the community. After filing his paperwork, Martin told AllOnGeorgia he is “excited and looking forward to serving the city of Summerville.”

A native of Menlo, Martin has lived in Summerville for just over a year, but his long career in the local school system has made him a well-known figure throughout the county.
