Chattooga Tennis Team Attends Summer Camp

The Chattooga High School tennis team had the opportunity to attend a four-day-long summer camp thanks to Lawrence Plantation in Rome, GA. Not only did existing high school tennis athletes get this opportunity, but multiple middle school athletes were able to attend as well. The camp included instruction by Jaleel Riaz and Jessica Brown. The players received four hours of instruction each day. Jessica Brown said, “The Chattooga High School tennis team came into camp with rackets swinging, energy high, and ready for a season of determination and success! Watch out, these players came to play!”

Athletes played fun games and competitions as well as worked on drills. On the last day, Lawrence Plantation provided the athletes lunch and a pool day. High school singles player Justice said, “I’m very grateful we got this opportunity. Camp was so much fun! It was a way to connect with friends and stay active in a sport we love. Can’t wait for next season!” But the people at Lawrence Plantation aren’t the only people who deserve a huge thank you! Coach Stephanie Ratliff, the CHS tennis coach for 10 years, helped transport the tennis players daily. Although unable to return as coach this school year, Coach Ratliff has steadfastly supported these athletes. Without her help, this camp wouldn’t be possible. Thank you to every person who helped in making this opportunity possible. These athletes had a wonderful time and hope to come back soon!
