Runners, mark your calendars! The Twisted Ankle Trail Race is set for Saturday, September 13, 2025, at the beautiful James H. “Sloppy” Floyd State Park in Summerville, Georgia.
This beloved grassroots race offers three distances to choose from—5K, 10 Mile, and Half Marathon (13.1 Miles)—making it perfect for both first-time trail runners and seasoned veterans. With scenic routes winding through the park’s rugged hills, forest trails, and around the lake, the event promises a challenging yet rewarding experience for all participants.

Since its start in 2005, the Twisted Ankle Trail Race has proudly donated 100% of its proceeds to the Friends of Sloppy Floyd State Park, helping support improvements and programs that benefit the park and its visitors.
Online registration is now open at twistedanklerace.com, or you can sign up in person at the Sloppy Floyd State Park Office. Be sure to register by September 1st to guarantee your race shirt.
Whether you’re racing to beat your personal record or just to enjoy the views and camaraderie, the Twisted Ankle Trail Race is a can’t-miss event that supports a great cause.
