Mylissa Gregory, Staff Hospitalist at Optim Medical Center – Screven, was named OTC’s 2025 Distinguished Alumni Award winner during the 2nd annual We Are OTC event held April 3 at The Market at Visit Statesboro.
This year, the 11th Annual Outstanding Alumni Awards Presentation was included as part of the festivities of the recently established We Are OTC community-wide event. The annual alumni award ceremony recognizes and celebrates OTC graduates who exemplify success and serve as role models in their fields. The awards are presented in two categories: Recent and Distinguished, with one alumnus honored in each category. Each applicant remains eligible for consideration for three consecutive years.
Gregory, a 2011 graduate of the Radiologic Technology Program, is a dedicated healthcare professional She holds a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies and is a licensed and registered physician assistant in Georgia. Gregory has also earned multiple certifications from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
Gregory, holding back tears at the podium, explained how community-oriented OTC felt as a student, and how her decision to enroll at OTC began with an interaction with a future instructor, “I knew from my very first conversation with Matt Dunn that OTC was for me,” said Gregory. “He helped me navigate a busy schedule so that I could pursue my dreams in healthcare.”
Beyond her clinical work, Mylissa is a committed mentor and community advocate. She has played a vital role in supporting students in Radiology and Physician Assistant programs, sharing her expertise to inspire future healthcare professionals. Her dedication to education extends further through her and her husband’s pledge to fund two scholarships at OTC ensuring financial support for aspiring students.
The Distinguished Alumni category recognizes an alumnus who graduated in 2015 or before, who has excelled in their chosen field, having attained prominence and has had a positive effect on the local, regional or state level.
