Rudy Giuliani Satisfies $148 Million Defamation Judgment

The judgment stemmed from false claims Giuliani made about Fulton County election workers Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss, accusing them of helping to steal the 2020 election. His accusations led to harassment and death threats against the two women.

Former New York attorney and Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani has fully satisfied the $148 million defamation judgment against him, according to federal court documents filed Monday.

The judgment stemmed from false claims Giuliani made about Fulton County election workers Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss, accusing them of helping to steal the 2020 election. His accusations led to harassment and death threats against the two women. Giuliani accused the women of sneaking in ballots in suitcases, counting ballots multiple times, and tampering with voting machines.

In January, Giuliani announced a settlement had been reached, allowing him to keep his Florida condo and three World Series rings. However, court documents do not specify the exact terms of the settlement.

Despite the ruling, Freeman and Moss have stated that Giuliani has continued to spread false allegations. A U.S. District Court has permanently barred him from making any further claims suggesting they engaged in wrongdoing.
