Chattooga High School Football Team Ready for an Exciting Season Ahead

On Friday, August 9, the Chattooga High School football team will scrimmage against Sonoraville. The game will be played at Sonoraville.

While speaking with Head Coach Roone Gable, he had some fantastic things to say and point out. Inquiring how the summer has gone so far, he replied, “We have had a very good and productive summer. In year two, we are a more mature team, and we are starting to see good leadership from the older guys. The team understands the expectations, and they understand the work necessary to be a successful team. The boys have worked hard in the weight room and on the field. We participated in a couple of 7-on-7’s at the team padded camps during June and July. We faced some good teams, and we competed hard and got better with every session.”

Despite the changes in regions, the team and coaching staff are excited about the chance to shine and the new opponents it comes with. Gable said, “I have been very proud of our team in many regards. Like I said earlier, we are learning the hard work it takes to build a successful team. Our goal is to represent our school and community in a positive manner. We start the season with three straight home games so I hope the fans and community can come out and support our guys and see the progress for themselves. I know our team will play hard and represent the C on the side of our helmet well. Go Big Red.”
