The Joy of the Journey
Destined for Great Things
In a chaotic and uncertain times, many people turn to their faith for guidance, peace, and strength. For Christians, believing and trusting God is central to their identity and destiny. Those who truly have their hearts turned towards God, seeking to live out their faith in a genuine and committed way, are destined for great things.
One of the central teachings of Christianity is the belief that God has a plan and purpose for every individual. A verse of scripture that many Christians share is Jeremiah 29:11, which states, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Even though this is a prophecy primarily concerning the destiny of Israel, the principles found within this verse apply to Christians today. Christians who fully trust this promise and seek to align their lives with God’s will are on a path towards greatness. Romans 12:2 “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” God has a plan for us. This plan is good, acceptable, and perfect!
Having a heart turned towards Jesus means more than simply attending church services or saying prayers. It involves a deep and personal relationship with Jesus, characterized by love, obedience, and trust. Christians who cultivate this relationship through prayer, study of scripture, and service to others are open to receiving God’s guidance and blessings in their lives.
One key aspect of living a life devoted to God is the concept of surrender. Christians are called to surrender their desires, plans, and ambitions to God, trusting that His will is more significant than theirs. This surrender can be challenging, as it requires humility, faith, and a willingness to let go of control. However, Christians who can surrender to God in this way are positioned to receive His abundant blessings and favor.
Another important aspect of having a heart turned towards God is seeking first the kingdom of God. This teaching in Matthew 6:33 encourages Christians to prioritize our relationship with God above all else. By seeking to align our lives with God’s kingdom and purposes, Christians are setting themselves up for success and fulfillment in all areas of their lives.
In the Bible, it is stated in Proverbs 3:5-6 “5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.6 In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” Living a life with a heart turned towards God is not always easy. It requires patience, perseverance, and a willingness to trust in God’s timing and ways, even when they may not align with our own. However, Christians who continue to walk in faith despite challenges and adversity are believed to be on a journey towards greatness that far exceeds their expectations.
In conclusion, Christians whose hearts are turned towards God are destined for great things! By cultivating a deep and personal relationship with God, surrendering to His will, and seeking first His kingdom, Christians position themselves to receive His blessings and favor in abundance. Through faith, humility, and obedience, Christians have the potential to impact the world around them in powerful ways, bringing about positive change and transformation. As Christians walk in faith and trust in God’s promises, they can be assured that greatness awaits them, both in this life and in the eternal life to come.
