Chattooga’s Thomas Chosen as HOSA Representative

Brinley Thomas, a sophomore at Chattooga High School, was chosen to be Georgia’s HOSA Region 1 Representative. There are over 16,000 members and nine regions in Georgia. Brinley will be over 14 counties and multiple schools per county.

The election process consisted of five phases: an application, teacher recommendation forms, and a state officer exam. She was selected to move on to the virtual interview section and nominating committee. She had an in-person interview, a recorded speech, and many workshops throughout the day. Brinley was then slated to become the Region One Representative and went to the next phase, which was campaigning. At the state leadership conference, she participated in a candidates symposium. Brinley campaigned on March 1st from 8:30-2:00. Brinley was selected and sworn in on stage in front of over 4,500 members as Georgia HOSA Region One Representative. Her duties now include representing Region One as a state officer and visiting many schools yearly.

Brinley said, “It’s such an honor to represent Region One this year, especially Chattooga HOSA. I can’t wait to see what the future holds. It will be a lot of work and lots of training, but I am beyond thrilled for what is to come.”

Libby Ann Veatch is a talented and passionate senior at Chattooga High School who worked with the Indian Lore for three years. She is a member of the Lady Indian Softball team, Attack Fast Pitch, and FCCLA. After high school Libby Ann plans to go to cosmetology school and become a hair stylist.
