Volunteer with United Way of Southeast Georgia’s Community Investment Committee, First Meeting March 5

Looking for a local volunteer opportunity? The United Way of Southeast Georgia is seeking volunteers for its Community Investment Committee(CIC). The first meeting/volunteer orientation is March 5 at 2:30 pm. Anyone interested is asked to sign up by Friday, March 1.

CIC’s mission is to empower our community through collective compassion and resources. The United Way of Southeast Georgia – “Are you passionate about improving lives and strengthening our community? We want YOU to join our Community Investment Committee (CIC)! As a member of the CIC, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping our community’s future by guiding the allocation of funds to our partner nonprofits. Your voice matters as we carefully deliberate on where to invest our resources for maximum impact in Bulloch County.”

About United Way of Southeast Georgia:

In 1980, United Way was started in Southeast Georgia as the United Way of Bulloch. The first year’s campaign raised $112,368 to be allocated to the ten United Way agencies. In 1984, the Bulloch United Way Board adopted a mission statement that limited United Way funding to only basic human needs.

The United Way of Bulloch became the United Way of Southeast Georgia in 1988 when it began providing services to 5 other counties including Candler, Evans, Emanuel, Tattnall, Jenkins. As the United Way of Southeast Georgia approaches 30 years in existence, the organization will continute to work hard to provide assistance to partner agencies in the area.
