GHC volleyball announces fall 2024 schedule

The program’s sophomore campaign is highlighted by a trip to Florida in October, and the first ever home volleyball match at the Floyd Campus.

The Office of Student Engagement has announced GHC Volleyball’s fall 2024 schedule. The program’s sophomore campaign is highlighted by a trip to Florida in October, and the first ever home volleyball match at the Floyd Campus.

The season kicks off at Shorter University on September 3 as the Lady Hawks host the Lady Chargers in the Winthrop-King Centre, followed by the home opener against Gordon State in the Student Center at the Cartersville site. The Lady Chargers will then welcome Shorter to The Corral for the first ever volleyball match on the Floyd Campus before wrapping up September with back-to-back away matches at Reinhardt University on September 23 and Gordon State on September 28.

The highlight of the season will be a trip to Florida at the end of October. The Lady Chargers will travel to Tampa on October 25 for a match against Trinity College of Florida before heading across the state to face Trinity Baptist College in Jacksonville on October 26. This trip is preceded by a home-and-home against Toccoa Falls College October 12 in Toccoa and October 19 in the Student Center Gym in Cartersville.

Volleyball at GHC is part of President Mike Hobbs’ Competitive League Sports initiative. The Lady Chargers completed their inaugural season in the fall of 2023, and a smaller squad currently competes in a shortened spring season.
