Player of the Week: Addie Veatch

This week’s AllOnGeorgia Player of the Week honors brought to you by Jim Aaron’s Summerville McDonalds go to Chattooga Lady Basketball’s Addie Veatch. 

Addie Veatch scored her career high in the game versus Christian Heritage on Tuesday night. Veatch passed her personal record with 25 points by making two free throws in the fourth quarter. The Lady Indians defeated Christian Heritage, 65-57. Veatch was the leading scorer with 25 points, 5 assists, and 2 steals. Veatch went 11/11 on the free throw line in the game.

Head Coach Alvah Beasley said, “Every coach should have an opportunity to coach a player like Addie. She works hard, puts the team first, and truly enjoys every moment she’s at practice and playing. I’m happy she’s seeing the time and effort she has put into improving her game is paying off!”

How many years have you been playing basketball?
I’ve played basketball for a decade.

Do you play any other sports? What positions?
I also play softball for the Lady Indians, lead off batter and shortstop.

Do you have a favorite team/athlete?
My favorite athlete is Caitlin Clark.

Do you have a favorite sport you play?
It’s hard to pick, I’m still undecided.

Who is your role model and why?
My Mom, she is a strong independent woman

What are your plans after high school?
To become a student athlete and pursue a career as a physical therapist.

In ten years I will be a physical therapist.

What is something most people do not know about you?
I have a Nike shoe addiction/collection.

What is the most important thing you’ve learned from your coach?
Coach Beasley has taught me how to lead on and off the court.

What’s your most memorable moment in basketball?
Winning the game against Armurchee last year at home with free throws.

What are your goals this season, as a team and personal?
Be a good teammate and make the playoffs!

How do you mentally prep for a game?
Watch film and prepare myself on what to expect

What’s the best thing about your teammates?
My teammates are so supportive on and off the court. They always have my back.

World Geography- Mrs.Baird

Addie Veatch said, “I’m honored to be selected as player of the week this week! I have came close to passing my career high multiple games this season and I finally accomplished that goal. Ready to continue working with my team each and everyday to get better and maybe pass my career high again! As always #LLZ!”

Libby Ann Veatch is a talented and passionate senior at Chattooga High School who worked with the Indian Lore for three years. She is a member of the Lady Indian Softball team, Attack Fast Pitch, and FCCLA. After high school Libby Ann plans to go to cosmetology school and become a hair stylist.
