Domestic Dispute in Bulloch Leads to Man Shot and Elder Abuse Charge

Bulloch County deputies responded Tuesday afternoon to a domestic dispute involving several people. One individual, the “primary aggressor” Michael William Sutton, had been shot and had fled the area. K-9 units located Sutton and he was taken into custody and transported to EGRMC. Upon release, he will be transported to the Bulloch County Jail. Others sustained minor injuries. The case is still being investigated and criminal charges will be filed accordingly, including a felony charge of elder abuse against Sutton.

On Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at approximately 4:45pm Deputies, Investigators and K-9 Units from the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office responded to 23257 Highway 80 West to a reported Domestic dispute involving several subjects. Upon arrival it was determined that the “primary aggressor”, MICHAEL WILLIAM SUTTON (age 48) had sustained a gunshot wound and fled the area. K-9 Units were deployed and SUTTON was apprehended and taken into custody within a short time. SUTTON was transported to the East Georgia Regional Hospital for treatment of the gunshot wound. SUTTON will be booked into the Bulloch County Jail upon his release from medical care. No other suspects are at large. Investigation into the case is on going with criminal charges to be filed accordingly. The other two subjects involved are victims of the domestic dispute and sustained minor injuries. Based on the laws of the State of Georgia, due to one of the victims being over 65 years of age, a felony charge of Elder Abuse will be issued against SUTTON.
