Updated Date & Time for Bulloch Schools Pre-K Lottery Drawings, Virtual Events March 30

Bulloch County Schools’ Pre-Kindergarten program has announced a new date and times for its lottery drawings:

The virtual events are now scheduled for Thursday, March 30, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. A complete schedule is available on the school district’s website and listed below. The change was made to provide families and schools more time after the lotteries for any questions and seat confirmations prior to the school district’s spring break on April 3-7.

A Pre-Kindergarten lottery is held for each school zone where there are more registered students than available Pre-K class slots.  To be considered for the Pre-Kindergarten lottery drawing for the 2023-2024 school year, parents and guardians had to complete the registration process for their child by Friday, March 17. The district currently has 11 pre-kindergarten sites to serve 436 children. Pre-Kindergarten registration will remain open throughout the 2022-2023 school year for children to be placed on waiting lists or to fill any available seats that become open during the year.

After the lottery drawings, registering parents/guardians are asked to contact their school by April 19, 2023, to officially accept or decline their child’s Pre-K class seat if their child was selected during a lottery drawing. Parents of all students chosen during a lottery drawing must formally accept the enrollment. The school district will also notify parents using the contact information (phone number) provided during registration.
