The Student Veterans Association(SVA) at Ogeechee Technical College recently partnered with the American Red Cross of Southeast and Coastal Georgia to hold the second blood drive of 2022 on OTC’s campus.
The Red Cross set up in the Jack Hill building from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 15 and collected 27 units of blood, ten more than their goal of 17.
“It has been very encouraging to see our donation numbers steadily increasing over the last year or so. I hope to see those numbers continue to rise with the next two drives we hold to close out the year,” said Beckie Snyder, Administrative Assistant for AVPSA. “
Since June of 2012 OTC has held 47 blood drives and has collected 1,570 units of blood from 1,855 donors.
Ogeechee on the Go is the name of Ogeechee Technical College’s community service initiative. OTC students and employees routinely participate in projects designed to support worthwhile causes within the community.
