Chattooga County: Pet Adoptions available Saturday

These pets are looking for a forever home

The Chattooga Animal Control Shelter will host an adoption drive on Saturday, June 4.

There will be around 14 dogs and around 12 cats available for adoption.

The hours for the adoption drive will be 10 am-2 pm.

“I firmly believe that each of the animals that comes in deserves that second chance,” said Brandy Prince, the new director.

Prince said her vision as the director is, “to just give each dog or cat the best I can, I want to open up more chances for people to come and see what is here, and help our local community in anyway I can with issues they may come across.”

There will be spaces open on Saturday for individuals to interact with the pets.

Cost for adoption:

Dogs: Female $100 Male $90

Cats: Female $65 Males $55

The price covers their spay/neuter and first round of rabies. (Cash or check only)

The Chattooga County Animal Control Shelter is located at 464 Red Oak Road in Summerville.

Visitors who aren’t sure if they want to adopt, but know they want to help the pet population, can bring a donation with them.  The shelter always needs bleach, blankets, puppy food, canned foot, treats and toys.
