Chattooga County: NOTICE OF PROPERTY TAX INCREASE

All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearing on this tax increase to be held at the Chattooga County Education Center located at 206 Penn Street Summerville GA on 8/12/2021 at 6:00pm.

NOTICE OF PROPERTY TAX INCREASE

The Chattooga County Board of Education has tentatively adopted a millage rate which will require an increase in the property tax by 4.58 percent.
All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearing on this tax increase to be held at the Chattooga County Education Center located at 206 Penn Street Summerville GA on 8/12/2021 at 6:00pm.

Times and places of additional public hearings on this tax increase will be held at the same location on 8/19/2021 at 9:30am and 5:30pm.

This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 12.4040 mills, an increase of 0.543 mills. Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than 11.861 mills. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $75,000 is approximately $15.25 and the proposed tax increase for non-homestead property with a fair market value of $50,000 is approximately $10.86.

NOTICE

The Chattooga County Board of Education does hereby announce that the millage rate will be set at a meeting to be held at the Chattooga County Education Center located at 206 Penn Street Summerville GA on 8/19/2021 at 7:00pm and pursuant to the requirements of O.C.G.A. § 48-5-32 does hereby publish the following presentation of the current year’s tax digest and levy, along with the history of the tax digest and levy for the past five years.
