At approximately 4:40 p.m., on Monday, Dec. 14, water service was fully restored to Stilson Elementary School. All students enrolled in the school’s face-to-face instructional model may return to school as normal for the remainder of the week. If a child was a temporary distance learner on Monday, they may return to school and return their Chromebooks if they checked one out from the school.
Stilson Elementary School has an enrollment of 425 students, and 308 are learning on campus this year. The school district and Stilson gave parents the option of temporarily using distance learning during the water outage. A Qualtrics survey was sent to parents Sunday evening and 60 percent of parents responded with their choice. Parents of 27 children chose to temporarily utilize distance learning until water was restored.
