Detectives, Impact Officers, and Patrol Officers teamed up yesterday to arrest two
suspects wanted in separate incidents for aggravated assault.
In the first incident, officers responded to a residence in the 700 block of West Jones
Avenue on 3/21/20. The female complainant stated that another woman, Shabrina
Fields (31 years old, West Jones Ave, Statesboro), drove to her residence, threatened
the complainant and her minor children, then attempted to run the complainant over.
Detectives processed the scene and interviewed various witnesses before issuing a
warrant for Aggravated Assault on Fields. After several days of searching, Fields was
arrested at her residence and transported to the Bulloch County Jail where she remains
pending further judicial action.
Anyone with information on the case should contact Detective Tanner at 912-764-9911.
In the second incident, officers responded to Park Place Apartments (230 Lanier Drive)
for a shots fire call on 3/25/20. Upon arriving patrol officers met with the victim who
stated that she had been involved in an altercation with a male subject over a previous
personal problem. After the altercation, a second male, later identified as Leon Ware
(36 years old, Park Place Apts, Statesboro), confronted the female and her family
members, including a minor child, then fired several shots in their general direction. No
one was injured by the shots. Detectives arrived to process the scene and interview the
various witnesses. Based on this, warrants were issued for Ware charging two counts
of Aggravated Assault and one count of Cruelty to Children-1st Degree. Ware was
arrested on 3/26/20 and transported to the Bulloch County Jail where he remains
pending further judicial action.
Anyone with information on the case should contact Detective Short at 912-764-9911.
