2 Bulloch Countians Named to OTC Board of Trustees

Ogeechee Technical College has named 2 new appointees for the Board of Trustees, as well as the full slate of officers and board members.

Ogeechee Technical College announces the appointment of two new members of its Board of Trustees, as well as the full slate of officers and board members.

Joining the Board of Trustees are Chad Avret and Marty Holder. “The Ogeechee Technical Foundation Board of Trustees features a wealth of experience and representation from our service area,” Ogeechee Tech Vice President for College Advancement, Michelle Davis said. “Thanks to our community’s support and the leadership of our board, our Foundation continues to grow and thrive.”

Chad Avret has been an active member in the Statesboro Community since he graduated from Georgia Southern University in 1995 with a degree in Sports Management. After graduation, Chad began working with the Statesboro Bulloch Parks and Recreation Department. During his 15 years with the Recreation Department, he served as Athletics Supervisor, Marketing Coordinator and Operations Division Manager overseeing all marketing, customer service, facilities, and technology for the department as well as Splash in the Boro. In July 2010, Chad was hired by Synovus Bank, now Synovus, as a Commercial lender and Vice President. He continues to serve in that role today, focusing on commercial lending, deposits and cash management.

Chad has been involved in many community organizations during his 23 years in Statesboro, and he currently serves on the Board of the Bulloch County Public School Foundation, the Ogeechee Tech Foundation, Schenkel Invitational, and Forest Heights Country Club.

Marty Holder is currently an Assistant Principal at Statesboro High School. Mr. Holder received his undergraduate degree from Georgia Southern University and received his master’s degree from Georgia College and State University. Mr. Holder is beginning his 11th year in education, 6 of those years as an Assistant Principal for the Bulloch County School System. Mr. Holder has also served as an Athletic Director, and Basketball Coach, and has served on numerous committees for the Bulloch County School System and the City of Statesboro. Mr. Holder is married to Concella Holder and has three beautiful daughters Madison, Taylor, and Ryleigh.

Also serving on the Ogeechee Tech Board of Trustees is Matt Sawhill, Warren Ball, Jill Griffin, Russell Rosengart, Evan Brower, Starr Harris, Grace Waites, and John Lavender.

Ogeechee Technical College (OTC) is a unit of the Technical College System of Georgia. OTC provides student‐centered academic and occupational programs and support services at the associate degree, diploma, and certificate levels. OTC utilizes traditional and distance education methodologies in state-of-the-art facilities while supporting adult education, continuing education, and customized business and industry workforce training.
