On the ballot today are two Summerville City Council Seats currently held by incumbents Dale Housch and Zach Martin. Council Seat Number 5 is being contested by Charlie Bennett, a lifelong resident of Chattooga county and newcomer to the political arena. Incumbent Zach Martin is also a lifelong resident of Summerville, works with the school system and is a second generation business owner.  Council Seat Number 3 is being contested by incumbent Dale Housch, a resident of Summerville for 44 years and Earl Parris a lifelong resident of Summerville and former council member.

Chattooga County voters will also decide whether to extend SPLOST.  The SPLOST is designed to spread the burden of school improvements from land owners to residents and non-residents paying sales taxes, as any County purchases become a shared investment in the Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax. The SPLOST tax amounts to 3 cents on the dollar of which the school system is the beneficiary of 2/3rds. SPLOST dollars have already contributed to the construction of Chattooga High School and the new gym at Trion. Future projects include an expansion at Leroy Massey Elementary School and a softball field at Chattooga High School, a new gym a Lyerly, therefore allowing the County to compete at higher levels both academically and athletically.

The City of Trion will be voting on two council seats.  Trion Council Seats 4 and 5 are each being contested by 3 challengers.

The Town of Lyerly will decide whether to allow alcohol sales on Sunday and fluoride content of water.
