Chattooga Schools Science Camp Success

Chattooga County Schools hosted Science Camp last week.

Chattooga County Schools hosted Science Camp last week. The camp had 60-71 2nd and 3rd graders each day. “I had a great group of teachers and student volunteers without whom I could not have made this possible. Thank you to Chattooga County Schools for allowing these students the opportunity to have this experience,” instructor Angie Culbert said.

Students explored James H “Sloppy” Floyd State Park on Wednesday. Teachers conducted activities for students to participate in to learn about our natural world. On Thursday, the traveled to the Rome/Floyd ECO center where students rode the Roman Holiday boat down the Oostanaula and Coosa rivers, explored the wetland area and visited the E.C.O. Center. The camp wrapped up on Friday with a visit to Chattooga County’s very own Alpaca Farm (TMMA Farms) and students completed science experiments at Chattooga High School.
