Camden County Welcomes New Public Works Director

Camden County Administrator, Steve Howard announced Monday that Shalana McNamee, the District Manager for Georgia, South and North Carolina for DBi Services LLC, has been hired as the new Public Works Director for Camden County.

In this role, Mrs. McNamee will be responsible for duties to include, but are not limited to: the maintenance, repair, and minor construction of the County transportation system, as well as drainage maintenance and management, and the operation of the Fleet Services Department.

Mrs. McNamee has over 18 years of experience as a senior manager, and is a United States Combat Veteran and was an Asphalt and Concrete Specialist for the Florida Army National Guard. Mrs. McNamee currently oversees multiple divisions within DBi Services, including a fleet of 100 trucks and equipment, a $20 million budget, and over 50 employees in her daily responsibilities.

Mrs. McNamee also brings expertise in Rights-of-Way management, including drainage inspections and repairs, project planning and management, as well as procurement and contract development.

“We are excited to welcome Shalana to Camden County and look forward to her leadership in Public Works and the Fleet Department,” said County Administrator Steve Howard. “Shalana brings expertise from the private sector that can offer a new vision and process development for Camden County.”

Mrs. McNamee has completed course work for her Business Management degree, and was recognized as an outstanding leader, including the Soldier of the Year Award for her unit, as well as the Core Value Award for DBi Services in 2017. Mrs. McNamee looks forward to returning to this area and living closer to her family here in Camden County where she will begin her new role on July 1, 2020.
