Today I announce my candidacy for Chairman of the Whitfield County Board of 
Commissioners, which will be on the May 19 primary ballot. 
As an experienced manager in a major floor covering company; now a local small 
business owner with my wife, Mae; and an officer on several non-profit boards, I have 
gained valuable insight into our community’s strengths, needs, and future opportunities.
The sum of these experiences will serve me well in the important leadership role as your 
Commission Chairman. 
Whitfield County is less competitive than our neighboring counties in several key areas.  
We need more quality of life options, better housing and lower property taxes.  Together, 
we can make these positive changes. Our priorities need to be ensuring a responsive 
local government via effective servant leadership, a customer service focus in all we do, 
and teamwork.  
In the coming weeks, I will share an exciting vision for our community — a vision that 
unites us and leads to a bright future for Whitfield County where our families prosper, and 
a place our children and grandchildren will proudly choose to live and work.
