Erosion and Time: A Losing Battle On Taylor Ridge

As long as residents of northwest Georgia can remember, there has been road work on the mountain pass over Taylor Ridge where Rome and Summerville are connected by Highway 27. Many Chattooga citizens cross Taylor Ridge multiple times daily, traveling into Summerville from the Gore/Subligna area, or local citizens traveling toward Rome.

24 Pounds of Meth Seized in Fort Payne

Last Thursday, the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics and Interdiction team assisted with the seizure of 24 pounds of methamphetamine in on Highway 35 in Fort Payne.

16-year old Charged As Adult for Meth Trafficking

On Wednesday, a 16 year old was charged as an adult after Narcotics agents & the Mentone PD found a large amount of Meth. The driver of the vehicle, Megan Palmer (18 of Summerville) was also arrested on several charges after leading agents on a chase.
