Catoosa County Man Charged with Arson

Investigators with the Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner’s Office determined the structure fire was the result of arson and an arrest warrant was obtained.

Just before 11:00 AM on the morning of July 12, officials with the Catoosa County Fire Department and Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residential structure fire at 91 Tea Rose Ln. in Ringgold.

When they arrived on scene, the 25-year-old, 1120-square-foot mobile home had suffered mild to moderate fire damage and there was an ongoing domestic dispute between a male and female subject.

Upon extinguishing the fire, the male subject was arrested on scene as a result of the domestic dispute. Later, investigators with the Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner’s Office determined the structure fire was the result of arson and an arrest warrant was obtained for the male subject, Jeffrey Scott Manley, 45, of Ringgold, for Arson in the 1st Degree.

“The available evidence points to the fire being deliberately started in the living room area as a result of the domestic dispute,” said Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King. “At the time the arrest warrant was obtained, Mr. Manley was still in the custody of the Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office.”

The Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner’s Office assisted the Catoosa County Fire Department and the Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office with this investigation.
