Customs and Border Protection officers at the Raul Hector Castro Port of Entry in Douglas arrested a Mexican national previously deported and convicted of murder as he attempted to re-enter the United States Sunday evening.
Officers referred 36-year-old Moises Cisneros-Llamas for further questioning when he attempted to enter through the pedestrian crossing lanes at the Port of Douglas. During processing, officers were able to positively identify Cisneros as being previously deported to Mexico after serving 15 years in prison in connection with 2nd degree murder in Phoenix back in 2002.
Cisneros will remain in federal custody pending immigration prosecution for re-entry after deportation.
Acting Port Director Michael Quinonez was quick to compliment his personnel in connection with the arrest.
“This case goes to show how our CBP officers continue to serve selflessly and efficiently to protect our country.”
