Retired Glynn County Police Chief Matt Doering passes away

Retired Glynn County Police Chief, Matt Doering passes away according to the Glynn County Police Department.

After an extended illness, Retired Police Chief Matt Doering passed away earlier today at his residence according to the Glynn County Police Department.

Chief John Powell of the Glynn County Police Department and Chief Rod Ellis of the Glynn County Schools Police expressed their condolences today.  “Please keep Chief Doering and his family in your thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time.”

Chief Doering retired last September from the Glynn County Police Department after serving over 30 years, with the last 14 being the Police Chief.

He went on to work as a police officer with the Glynn County Schools Police stationed at Risley Middle, where he worked at the time of his passing.
