Police in Georgia say a woman acknowledged falsely reporting an armed robbery and sexual assault at her home.
Savannah police spokeswoman Bianca Johnson tells the Savannah Morning News that 31-year-old Holley Frawley told police in March a man posing as a delivery driver forced his way into her home and let two other men inside. Frawley said two men collected items while the third raped her. She gave police detailed descriptions of the suspects, who she said left when she fired at them.
Johnson says Frawley later admitted to fabricating the story.
Maj. DeVonn Adams says Frawley’s claims had frightened Savannah residents and tied up police resources. She was arrested Tuesday on charges of false report of a crime and reckless conduct. It’s unclear whether she has a lawyer.
