Police in Atlanta’s suburbs say a man has been charged with DUI in a crash that killed his 11-year-old son and seriously injured his 13-year-old son in January.
WSB-TV reported Monday that Adrian Hyde was charged with several offenses including vehicular homicide and DUI child endangerment. An arrest warrant issued Thursday says investigators found an open bottle of Seagram’s Gin in the car’s glove box.
Cobb County police say Hyde had lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a tree in Powder Springs. Police spokesman Sgt. Wayne Delk says it took investigators seven months to file charges because in cases where everyone has severe injuries there is instead a rush to gather evidence.
Records say Hyde is jailed without bond. It’s unclear if the Austell resident has a lawyer.
