CARTERSVILLE, GA – Bartow County EMS and numerous other agencies responded to a tractor trailer accident on I-75 near mile marker 285.

The truck left the roadway striking the wires in the median. The truck then burst into flames with the driver inside. Bystanders helped to free the driver.

BCEMS arrived and assessed the patient. The patient a male 35 years old was found to have 2nd and 3rd degree burns to one arm and one leg. The patient also had an altered mental status.

Air life was requested for transport to a burn center. The patient was flown to Grady Hospital. All lanes of the interstate where closed for a short period of time.
