Dalton ended April with 69,400 jobs. That’s an increase of about 1,900 from the job total as of a year ago and it’s up 300 from last month’s total.

2.4 magnitude earthquake hits NWGA Friday near Horn Mountain

If NWGA residents felt a slight rumble on Friday afternoon, it wasn't imaginary. A 2.4 magnitude earthquake struck east of LaFayette near the northwest end of Horn Mountain, according to earthquake trackers. The quake struck at approximately 1:48pm on Friday, according to seismologists, but no widespread reports from the public have been seen.
