The City of St. Marys announced Friday the award of the contract for the Sidewalk Hydro Road Improvement Maintenance Project (SHRIMP).
The project has been awarded to Charlie Hester Construction. Construction is going to begin October 20, 2018.
This project is a culmination of over 3 years of planning and development which began when the city adopted the Renaissance Strategic Visioning and Plan with the help of the Carl Vinson Institute of Government at the University of Georgia.
According to city officials, this project will improve the walkability, open space, and mitigate storm water in downtown St. Marys.
