All on Georgia Camden just learned of an indictment for Camden County PSA Director William Brunson, who was fired this week along with Assistant Director Shawnte’ Jenkins. See the recent report here.
The indictment for Brunson is for two counts of criminal charges. The first count is for Theft by Taking Government property. According to the indictment Brunson took $21,000 from the Camden PSA on July 6th, 2016 and used it to purchase an automobile from a business called Southern Motors.
The second count is also for Theft by Taking Government Property. Again, according to the indictment, Brunson took another $17,500 from the Camden PSA and used it to purchase another automobile from Southern Motors on January 17, 2017.
Sources close to All on Georgia Camden learn that an indictment is also expected for Assistant Director Jenkins.
The PSA Board members recommended and voted for interim director, Wesley Davis, who is the retired Parks and Recreation Director for Glynn County with over 28 years of experience. Davis is also the brother-in-law of PSA Board member and County Commissioner Chuck Clark, who recused himself in the vote. Davis accepted the position and will be starting Monday.
The interim director will be placed in the executive director’s position for 90 days until a suitable replacement is found. The HR director said she has already placed out information to find a suitable replacement and internal candidates will be considered a priority for the position.
