The 5th Grade students at St. Marys Elementary were given a Reading Marathon challenge at the first of February. They were asked to read 26.2 hours by the end of March. The students were given time in class to read, but the majority of their reading took place outside the classroom. A reading log was kept in their weekly agenda for their accountability partner to sign off their minutes.
The Sharks ended their Reading Marathon with a 1 mile run with a strong finish under a banner where the students received their milestone certificates for those who met their 3.1, 6.2, 9.3, 13.1, and 26.2 hours read. The Marathon winners also received their medals. Congratulations to those that achieved their goals!
