Camden Co. High School identifies firework perpetrator, performs bag searches

Camden County High School increased security measures after fireworks episode amid recent threat

Tensions are high across the country concerning school safety amid the Parkland, FL school shooting and recent school threats.

A student at Camden Co. High School ignited firecrackers at the high school on Wednesday.

The high school increased their security presence by bag searching students today as they entered the building. The district released a robocall to high school parents stating that they have identified and arrested the perpetrator of the fireworks ignitions. In addition, the bag searches discovered a knife, some drugs, and other contraband.

In previous discussions with the school district, parents that do not update their information in the PowerSchool portal may not get emails or robocalls. The emails and robocalls default to the primary email and phone number.
