In memory of Randy Horn
It is rare that God places a human being on Earth who seemingly is put here just to bring smiles to others.
Randy Horn was that rare gift to humanity.
He loved nothing more than making people laugh. And he was the master of laughter.
From his Vaudeville days to his recent appearances in St. Marys Little Theatre productions, Randy was embraced by audiences of all ages who were graced by his light.
During a Christmas Show, he played an angel who endeavored to earn his wings. His assignment: transform Donald Trump. Randy’s comedic delivery of this role brought the house down at Theatre by the Trax.
Randy never hesitated to practice buffoonery, slapstick, and satire or whatever it took to evoke laughter.
Randy Horn was simply “good medicine” for everyone.
Mention Jessica or Tim or Linda, and Randy’s face would light up in an unabashed showing of adoring affection.
He loved family. And, of course, there is Piglet, who Randy loved and spoiled and, no doubt, was loved back more than one would think a cat could love.
Randy Horn was a light in our darkest hour. A warm hug on the coldest day. And a man who wrote his name upon our hearts over and over and over again.
Though our lives have been saddened by his passing, Heaven has gained an angel and, forever, Randy Horn will be remembered as the Rolls-Royce of the human race. (Though he would tell you he is more like a pearl in a bowl of grits.)
And can’t you just see that sly smile and glint in his eye as he says this?
