Bulloch County Schools will host a Camp Invention experience June 3 – 7, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily, at Langston Chapel Middle School, for any children in the community who will be rising Kindergarten through sixth-grade students. The camp is under the direction of Travis Brooks, a certified teacher, and instructors will provide children a high-energy, hands-on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM)-infused camp. The cost of the camp is $230 which includes the full-day camp, materials, lunch and snacks. The children will enjoy creative problem solving where they will work in teams to rebuild ships and design underwater equipment in a Deep-sea mystery. They will explore circuit boards, motors and gears as they design a remote control DIY ORBOT to go through obstacles. They will work on their innovation skills by collaborating with inventor superheroes to take on the role of an engineer, fabricator and inventor to conquer villains in the Innovation Force. The children will also take on the role of a successful entrepreneur using the Farm Tech activities to code bots to turn a polluted wasteland into a money-making machine and create devices to save the animals.
