Cobb County native and former student at Georgia Southern University, Skip Wells is one of the four Marines killed in the Chattanooga shooting rampage this week. The 21-year-old was a 2012 graduate of Sprayberry High School in Marietta, GA, then a student at GSU for a brief period before joining the United States Marine Corps. He was in ROTC in high school and at Georgia Southern.
Only one other victim, Thomas Sullivan from Springfield, MA, has been identified. The Dept. of Defense has not yet officially released the names of the victims.
The suspect, Mohammad Youssuf Abdulazeez, was carrying 30-round magazines when he opened fire at two military centers in Chattanooga, Tennessee. According to law enforcement officials briefed on the investigation, Abdulazeez was armed with an AK-47 style weapon at the time of the attack. The suspect was eventually killed by police during his rampage.
