‘Tis the season for giving and that’s just what Tyler Perry has done at two suburban Walmarts in Georgia.
Customers at two suburban Atlanta area Walmart stores received a holiday gift after discovering they found out actor and moving producer, Tyler Perry, had paid for their Christmas layaways, according to The Associated Press reports.
Although he intended the gift to be anonymous, Perry confirmed this gesture in a video posted Thursday to Twitter.
It was reported that Perry spent $434,000 at a Walmart in East Point, GA and another store in Douglasville which covered almost all the balances for those items.
In a social media post, Tyler said customers only had to pay a penny to get complete the rest of their purchases. He says he knows people are struggling and he’s just “really, really grateful to be able to be in a position to do this.”
