According to the 2013 export statistics from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, most merchandise and services originating the the Northwest Georgia area stay in our part of the world.

The data shows that of the more than $3.5 billion in exports from the 14th Congressional District, roughly $1.5 billion stays in the Americas, followed by just under $1 billion in exports to Asia and the Pacific.

According to the report, over 9,500 manufacturing jobs, and over 2,400 service jobs in 2013 were directly supported by exports out of the area.

Manufacturing was by far the largest area of export from Northwest Georgia, accounting for nearly $3.4 of the total $3.5 billion export total.
